The One Who Is Ill

My daughter is still fighting her 4th day of fever. She is weak and cranky and occasionally cries without reason. She's also saying no to everything when she's in that state: no to lying down, no to carrying, no to touching her..and all at the same time! Which sometimes leaves me clueless.

I'm ranting due to lack of sleep from the hourly carrying and patting her and the 2 hour period to give her medicine, milk, sponge her down to reduce her fever and to reduce some of her discomfort last night. I'm lucky though that hubby who worked night shift yesterday helped me clear the mountain of dishes in the kitchen and allowed me to take an hour's nap this afternoon to up my energy levels.

And to top it of, we're still not sure as to what is ailing her. The red spots that is all over her body arms, legs and now face led us (and the doctor) to think that she might be contracting the chicken pox. But up till now, the red spots remain just that, without developing blisters. So off to the doctor's again tomorrow because Doctor Lee wants to take a second look at her.

For now, it's bye-bye to all social invitations (except letting her attack her dearest auntie). Hope she will get well in time for my cousin's wedding this Saturday.
