Speak Nicely

I've been trying to teach Humaira to be polite to myself and hubby when she's speaking to us. And so, I have been particular with her saying "Please Ibu" and "Thank You Ibu" and other things and in a nice voice when she wants things and gets them. Usually, it has to be prompted from her and she has yet to 'speak nicely' on her own accord.

Of course sometimes it doesn't work. On occasions that I chided her and say,"Humaira, speak nicely", she would reply in her sweet voice,"nicely". Of course, unlike bigger kids who say this, she has no ill intent whatsoever.

But I'm starting to see the fruits of my labour. Today when she asked for more cereal, I told her to sit down. Very, very nicely she said,"Wait, Ibu" (meaning that she was asking me to be patient and she would sit later, a delaying tactic I would say) instead of trying to get her way with other means.

I don't know about you but I consider this one point for the mummy camp!

Good job baby!
