Labour Story 2 Part 1

Nobody expected it to happen. On the night of 28th Dec 09, we were celebrating Awal Muharram (the Islamic New Year) at Pakcik Jamil's house. When asked about the impending delivery, I replied with, " Oh, it's still some time away. We still have almost two weeks to go." We also talked about how small the baby was and hopefully it would reach 2.8 kg by the time it was ready to be delivered. Anyway, I didn't want to get my hopes up like I did with Humaira (and she ended up being induced at the 41st week because she just refused to come out).

Incidentally, I still had some items to cross out from my mental checklist:
1) Pack hospital bag - DONE
2) Rebond hair - DONE (Vain, I know)
3) Remove irritating small bump on my forehead - NOT DONE (apparently, they need to use lazer or something and thus have to wait after my delivery. Sheesh)
4) Wash baby's clothings, blankets, mittens and booties etc. - Only one pile done
5) Reinstall the gate for the cot - DONE
6) Arrange baby's stuff in their places eg. kitchen, dresser - NOT DONE (things are piling all over the place)
7) Prepare comfortable but nice outfit to go to hospital in, in case of delivery - NOT DONE (again, the vain-ness factor shines through)
8) Sterilise breast pump equipment and bottles - NOT DONE

...and other important things like that. So you can imagine how unprepared I was to be a mother of two just the very next day!

To be continued...
