What Kind Of Driver Are You?

I did this test on

Apparently. I'm a very considerate driver..

I have my own hypotheses on how we drive.

My first hypothesis is that your mood is directly related to the way you drive. In essence, good mood equals good driving while bad mood equals bad driving. Easy peasy! I have been known to be such a terror/hazard on the roads when I’m angry/tired/hungry/sleepy. Which is why I try to avoid driving at these times or at least drive slower.

My second hypothesis is how others drive is directly related to how you drive. If the other driver is angry/tired/hungry/sleepy and is a terror/hazard on the road, you will be affected by his/her driving and react towards it. If this is really true, no wonder the government keep stressing on being courteous on the road. When the other drivers are courteous, the good feelings tend to have a spillover effect. Oh mi god, I am such a genius!

Anyway today, I had a horrible driving experience. Despite being in a good mood and driving ok, I was horned by an testosterone-charged taxi driver. He was tailing me and thought I was going straight but I stopped to make a right turn (had to wait for the opposite cars to pass) and had my signal light on. He registered his unhappiness (cos he was going fast and had to stop) with a loud honk and gave me a ‘you-woman-driver-you’ stare which left me shaken and extremely teary; partly because I was scared of him, and partly because I was thinking of what could have happened to my daughter sitting alone in the backseat.

Anyway, hypotheses or not, it’s always good to be nice when you drive.

On the subject of driving, the Danes have started this campaign to encourage drivers to stick to the speed limit. Do you think we will ever have this in Singapore? Hmm..
