Three's The Charm

Three years have come and gone and today marks the date that we first became man and wife. On this day, instead of being with me, hubby dutifully slaves away at his 12-hr shift job to provide for this family, a job which takes him away from us many weekends and a job which allows us to see him fewer hours than we'd like but also a job which he loves and enjoys and we support him for it.

On this day, I toil at my what is now very often a 10-hr daily race (not including the work brought home which follows), without seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.A job which is draining the energy out of me but also a job which husband is so supportive of despite its downs and downs.

Despite this sombre potrayal of the day which we had anticipated, we'd already had our so-called special anniversary cum break fast dinner with the daughter in tow last week at Simpang Bedok and another late night supper at Sakuntala (an extremely rare treat being out late at night with only the two of us - happens only about once a year), all of which were unplanned. Nothing else was scheduled, no fancy dinners, no gifts. We had each other and that was enough.

And yet, he still managed to surprise me when a bouquet of a dozen roses and an accompanying bear arrived today at work. That's makes it two years in a row..I'm so pampered. I was just thinking, "How about next year then hubby? I heard three's the charm". :)
